In Memory

Michael McGuire

When you give a human being a chance.....You change their life Forever!

I did not know Mike personally but I received an overwhelming amount of kind and gracious words about our classmate. Michael was a great friend; he was the kind of friend that stands by you when you need somebody to be there. The one thing that stands out about Mike from our classmates was his personality and his sense of humor. I know that walking through the halls of Gar-Field Senior High School (myself) if you did not see Mike you heard his laughter and contagious personality. There are only a handful of people who come into your world, and touch your life in a dramatic fashion. Some of the people are just flickers of light during a long life, while others are consistent glows for years.

I remember hanging out with Mike and his brother all the time. Mike even drove us to football games in his cavalier and when the song "word up" came out we would all drive around and sing it. He was always happy, had a ton of friends and was just cool guy. ~George Karakatsanis
Mike was like the brother I never had. When Mike first came to the area we quickly became friends. Mike always thought of others first before himself. He was the best friend that anyone could ever hope for. I have so many great memories of Mike. If I had to pick one memory that stands out it would have to be this one. In Mike's backyard we used to play Kurtis Blow's "Basketball" on the radio. We would dribble around and make behind the back passes, between the leg passes and acting like we were the Globetrotters. To this day I still remember it like it was yesterday and when I hear that song it brings a smile to my face. Mike was a treat to be around and is truly missed. The only thing that I can say is that he is and always will be my brother and best friend. Clint McClure~

Mike, your friends and classmates love you and miss you. You are in good hands. You have graced our lives more than you will ever know. It is our honor to have known you..... God bless.

I know you're still out there
Living life with your kind of flair
Standing with your face to the sun
Picturing your time to come
Many clouds have passed by
Since we stood under the same sky
Taking in the summer sights
Howling at the city lights
I still remember when we were young
Pulling pranks just for fun
Summer vacations were such a blast
The kind of memories that will always last
Growing up the future seemed like such a sure thing
Thought we knew what it would bring
True love, a family, a house in the hills
Work hard, play hard and don't sweat the bills
Never guessed things would change so much
Thought our friends would never lose touch
The stars seemed so clear from our domain
I sure could handle some of those good times again
Even if our dreams still seem far away
Our friendship will be right here to stay
Even though you may be gone.....
The road between us will never be too long...

I remember Mike like it was yesterday. He had so much life to him that I admired him so much. Mike was very likeable and very funny. To his family, May God bless you and know that I will never forget those day's walking in the halls of Gar-Field High School and seeing Mike smile and laugh.
